"Las Mujeres de Hip Hop Cubano" Tour stopping by SOBs, April 3rd 2007."

New York City, New York - A tour highlighting women and Hip-hop culture in Cuba explodes onto the NYC hip-hop scene in the form of lyrics, beats, music, spoken word, art and activism come March 21 until April 9, 2007.

Las Mujeres de Hip-Hop Cubano: Omega Kilay [The Woman of Cuban Hip-Hop] Tour will showcase three important groups out of Cuba: Las Krudas, a trio who rap about their personal politics, realities of their situation as Cubans in exile and activism, Leidis, a DJ and influential spoken word artist and poet and Magyori aka La Llave, "the key" to a dynamic hip-hop crew EPG, out of 19th and 10th Street Vedado, Havana.

The tour will culminate with a performance event that will take place at the legendary music venue, Sounds of Brazil [SOBs] on April 3rd, 2007, located at 204 Varick Street at West Houston.

Hosted by the fierce poet and rapper, La Bruja, and with special performances from guest artists like Queen Godis, DJ Laylo, Mikky Flow and poet/performer from the Bronx, Patty Dukes, this performance will culminate the successful Mujeres de Hip- Hop Cubano Tour which will make stops for panels and lectures on the subject of hip-hop, Cuban politics, expression, women, power, and their stories at the Trinity International Hip-Hop Festival, The New School, NYU and more through April 9th.

Habano MC biography..
"A considerable part of the Latin Hip-Hop scene also comes from outside Latin America. Creative talents with latin roots are not only developing in the USA, but also in Europe, just like the Cuban artist Habano, who lives and performs in Germany since 1994.

Habano was born and grew up in Havana. He was taught percussion by Joaquín Pozo, the grandson of the legendary Chano Pozo from the Dizzy Gillespie Band. After Habano emigrated to Hamburg, he formed the traditional "Sol y Son" Group and later the Salsa-Hip Hop Trio "Puros Habanos".

After organizing several events such as the "Fiesta Cubana" in the Hamburger Factory, he moved to Berlin to produce his own music."
